Georgi Apostolov Minchev was a Bulgarian national revolutionary, a participant in the April Uprising of 1876 and a member of Botev's detachment.
Born in June 1853 into the family of a wealthy merchant in Eski Zaara, Georgi Apostolov completed school in his native town. He worked in trade and accounting. He was a member of the Stara Zagora Local Revolutionary Committee of the Internal Revolutionary Organisation (IRO), founded by Vasil Levski, and participated in preparations for the Stara Zagora Uprising of 1875. After the uprising failed, he fled to Romania.
In the autumn of 1876, Georgi Apostolov attended meetings of the Giurgiu Revolutionary Committee and was designated assistant apostle to Stoyan Zaimov in the Third Vratsa Revolutionary District.
In the spring of 1876, together with Nikola Obretenov, Georgi Apostolov returned to Romania to organise a detachment. Under Hristo Botev's command, the detachment landed on the bank at Kozloduy on 17 May 1876, with Georgi Apostolov serving as its secretary.
According to Nikola Obretenov's testimony, Georgi Apostolov was present at Hristo Botev's death when he was struck by a bullet. After Botev's death, the two led some of the detachment's members. They separated at Rashov Dol, and Apostolov's group hid in a stone sheepfold in the valley. Surrounded by a numerous Turkish force, they were killed on 21 May 1876 while fighting near the village of Lyutibrod in the Vratsa region.
