Period: Ottoman rule

Tone Ivanov Kraychov was a Bulgarian national revolutionary born in 1842 in the village of Zhelyava. In 1872, while running his tavern in his native village, he organised a revolutionary committee with the help of Dimitar Obshti. He was captured during the proceedings against Vasil Levski and, following a trial, was sent into exile in Diyarbakır.

During his exile, Tone Kraychov kept a diary describing his life in detail. He returned to his homeland after three years. Years later, his notes from exile were published as "Диарбекирски дневник и спомени на Тоне Крайчов" (Tone Kraychov's Diyarbakır Diary and Memoirs).

After the Liberation, Tone Kraychov entered political life as a member of parliament and participated in the committee for the foundation of the SS Cyril and Methodius National Library.
