Simeon

Title: Tarkan
Accession: 927
End of rule: 927

Only one account mentions Tarkan Simeon. In 927, he participated in a Bulgarian mission to Constantinople whose main purpose was to arrange the marriage of the Bulgarian tsar Peter I, who reigned from 927 to 969, to the granddaughter of the Byzantine emperor Romanos I Lekapenos, who reigned from 920 to 944.

As part of the Bulgarian delegation, Simeon played a key role in negotiating and arranging the marriage between the two rulers. After successful negotiations, the marriage of Peter I and Romanos I Lekapenos's granddaughter was confirmed, as recorded in documents from the period. This alliance had great political significance, strengthening relations between Bulgaria and Byzantium and contributing to regional stability.
