Petar Tseperanski was a hajduk born in the village of Ivanovtsi, where he tended sheep as a child. Later, he worked as a farmhand in Tryavna for the notable Genko Petrov Daskalov. Daskalov’s family was related to Petar’s mother, who came from the village of Tseperanite. Petar married there but subsequently became a hajduk under Manyo Karshaka. He then joined the detachment of his brother Boycho Tseperanski until around 1928–1930. In winter, he worked as a miller in the village of Batovo.

In 1830–1832, Petar was sentenced to exile in Siberia, where he performed penal labour, while his brother Georgi died. After escaping, Petar settled in the village of Dimitar Ganevo in the Dobrich region. He volunteered in the Crimean War and reached the Battle of Silistra. In the Nova Zagora region, Petar punished a Turkish bey who had abused his position. Later, he avenged his brother’s death upon those who had betrayed him and returned to work as a field guard in the village of Dimitar Ganevo.
