Petar Shilev was a Bulgarian public figure whose participation was crucial to the historical process of Eastern Rumelia's Unification with the Principality of Bulgaria.

He was born in 1853 in Golyamo Konare, now part of the town of Saedinenie. Shilev actively participated in the Unification movement and was deputy chairman of the Golyamo Konare committee at this historic moment. On the night of 5–6 November, he and Prodan Tishkov–Chardafon led the local detachment that surrounded the konak in Plovdiv.

After the Unification, Shilev held various public offices, including member of parliament, deputy mayor and district governor of Plovdiv. Between 6 July and 1 March 1921, he was mayor of Plovdiv as chairman of a three-member commission.

Alongside his active political career, Shilev left a literary legacy. He wrote a book entitled Спомени за Съединението (Recollections of the Unification), helping preserve the memory of the important events of this period in Bulgarian history.
