Petar Hristov, known by the nicknames Hadzhi Petar and Petar the Coppersmith, was a Bulgarian revolutionary whose life was connected with his participation in the April Uprising.
He was born in Yakoruda village, where he joined the Internal Revolutionary Organisation and founded the village revolutionary committee in March 1876. Hristov accompanied Kuzman Poptomov, the representative of the Pazardzhik Revolutionary Committee, during his tour of the Razlog region.
When the April Uprising began, he joined Georgi Benkovski's Flying Detachment as an agitator and courier. Despite the Ottoman efforts to capture him, Hristov was arrested and taken to prison in Plovdiv.
He endured torture in prison but disclosed no information about the other participants in the uprising. He was released during the Russo-Turkish War after Russian troops entered Plovdiv in January 1878.
