Kostaki Hadzhi Pakov was a Bulgarian revolutionary known for his active participation in Filip Totyu's detachment and his significant role in the struggle for national liberation.
He was born in Pleven in 1845 into the wealthy Hadzhi Pakov family. His education began in Giurgiu, where he became a teacher and merchant, but Rakovski's call to organise insurgent detachments drew him into the revolutionary struggle.
Kostaki became one of Filip Totyu's closest assistants and was chosen as the detachment's clerk. He fought in several battles, including that near Varbovka village, where he was one of the twelve detachment members to survive the attack. Wounded and left for dead in the forest, he was found and handed over to the Turkish authorities.
In 1867, at the age of 22, Kostaki Hadzhi Pakov was hanged in Ruse. His courage and determination in the struggle for freedom were described by contemporaries such as Zahari Stoyanov and Nikola Obretenov, who regarded him as a symbol of the Bulgarian people's commitment to independence.
