Period: Ottoman rule

Dimitar Ivanov Manzov was a Bulgarian revolutionary of the national liberation movement, born in Lyaskovets in 1842. His father, Ivan Dimitrov Manzov, was suspected by the Turks of involvement in Captain Dyado Nikola's uprising of 1856 and emigrated to Brăila in Wallachia. He engaged in trade there and brought his family to join him. Dimitar Manzov continued his education at the Bulgarian school in Romania and, according to some accounts, belonged to the Secret Bulgarian Central Committee.

Manzov joined the detachment with his entire fortune, equipping himself and several other members with weapons. After the battle in Karapanova Koriya, where he was seriously wounded and had badly bruised feet, he could no longer follow his comrades and remained in a shepherd's hut. Captured by the Turks, Manzov was tried and hanged in Tarnovo.
