Dimitar Stoyanov Bratoev was a Bulgarian revolutionary born in Tserova Koriya village in the Tarnovo region. The son of a market gardener, he attended the local school and then became a novice at Kapinovo Monastery. In 1859, he went with his father to Serbia, where he worked in market gardening before entering the theological school in Belgrade.

In spring 1868, after a brief visit to his native village, Bratoev went to Romania, where he joined Hadzhi Dimitar and Stefan Karadzha's detachment. He probably died in one of its battles.
