Detelin Voyvoda was a well-known hajduk born in the town of Koprivshtitsa. He became a rebel because a Turkish bey had abducted his fiancée. He decided to take revenge and began doing so with his friend Doncho Vataha. However, Detelin was captured and killed in Plovdiv. In his memory, the large rocks below Bogdan Peak were named Detelinova Gramada (Detelin's Rock Pile).
Detelin's detachment was formed in 1828, although the location is not clearly established. Its task was to conduct reconnaissance and combat operations to assist the Russian army in crossing the Balkan Mountains. Between 1804 and 1813, Detelin Voyvoda served in Hajduk Velko's force during the Serbian Uprising. Later, after the Russo-Turkish War of 1828–1829, he again roamed with a hajduk band. In 1839 he was captured by the Turks and brutally killed by being impaled alive.
