Atanas Hristov Goleminov was a well-known Bulgarian participant in the Russo-Turkish War of 1877–1878 and a member of the Bulgarian Volunteer Corps.

He was born in Zhilentsi village in the Kyustendil region in 1852. In 1868, he emigrated to Romania, where he worked as a builder and, for a time, in Lyuben Karavelov's printing house in Bucharest. There, he carried out courier assignments for the Bulgarian Revolutionary Central Committee.

In 1876, he volunteered in Filip Totyu's detachment during the Serbo-Turkish War. Following the declaration of the Russo-Turkish War in 1877, he joined the Bulgarian Volunteer Corps, serving in the Second and Third Companies of the First Volunteer Battalion. He took part in all its battles and received three orders for his bravery.

He also served as a volunteer in the Serbo-Bulgarian War of 1885, as part of the Macedonian Volunteer Battalion.

After the Liberation, he settled in Kyustendil, where he worked as a mason and carpenter. He actively participated in constructing some of the town's important buildings, including the Teacher Training School and the Bratstvo community cultural centre. In 1923, he was made an honorary citizen of Gabrovo, receiving the same distinction in Kyustendil in 1928.
