Anton Ivanov Mumdzhiev was a Bulgarian revolutionary whose participation in the national liberation movement and Bulgaria's Unification was significant.
He was born around 1851 in Tatar Pazardzhik. During the April Uprising, he took part in the struggle to liberate Bulgaria. Afterwards, persecution by the Ottoman authorities forced him to flee, first to Constantinople and then to the Russian Empire. During the Russo-Turkish War of 1877–1878, he served in the Second Battalion of the Bulgarian Volunteer Corps and fought in battles including Stara Zagora, Shipka and Sheynovo.
After Bulgaria's Liberation, from 1882 to 1885, he worked at the telegraph and postal station in his hometown. Mumdzhiev actively helped prepare the Unification in Tatar Pazardzhik and was elected a member of the local committee, which held meetings in his house. After the Unification, he served as a police commissioner and police officer in various towns, including Tatar Pazardzhik, Stara Zagora, Haskovo, Plovdiv and others.
Anton Ivanov Mumdzhiev died in Kavakli on 4 January 1923.
