Second Battle of Çatalca

Year: 1913
Location: Çatalca, Eastern Thrace
Ruler: Ferdinand

The Battle of Çatalca, fought from 23 January to 2 February 1913, was the second battle of the Balkan War at Çatalca. In the previous battle, the Bulgarian troops had been crushed. At this time, negotiations for an armistice had begun, but the Bulgarian High Command ordered the establishment of two fortified fronts ready to fight the Ottoman forces near the Karasu River. The Ottoman Çatalca forces, for their part, went on the offensive to regain control of Eastern Thrace.

The battle ended without victory for either side. The Bulgarian army was pushed about ten kilometres farther away from Istanbul. A month later, another battle took place at the same location.
