Samovodska Charshia

Samovodska Charshia is a picturesque street in Veliko Tarnovo characterised by National Revival architecture.

The market street's history began with its creation in the mid-19th century. Farmers came to the new street to sell their produce, mainly from nearby villages such as Samovodene, Dichin and other surrounding settlements. Craftsmen's shops, workshops and inns appeared over time.

Hadzhi Nikoli's Inn is one of the well-known buildings that still stand along the street. Samovodska Charshia was home to various inns, including the Hadzhi Davidov, Hadzhi Velikov and Dryanovo inns, as well as that of Atanas Yonooglu. These buildings are architectural monuments and part of the region's rich history.
