Memorial Ossuary at Dryanovo Monastery

The impressive memorial ossuary at the Monastery of St Michael the Archangel in Dryanovo was created in memory of the heroes of the April Uprising of 1876. It is dedicated to the insurgents of Father Hariton and Bacho Kiro's detachment, who fought Ottoman troops for nine days.

During those days, the insurgents faced substantial Ottoman army forces, fighting with great courage and determination. Despite the unequal conditions, they displayed exceptional patriotism and commitment to the Bulgarian people's struggle for freedom and independence.

The memorial ossuary serves as an enduring remembrance of the sacrifice and heroism of the insurgents, who gave their lives for their ideals and their country's future. It is a symbol of national pride and respect for all those who fight for their people's freedom and dignity.
