Europe’s hottest geyser

Most of Europe’s geysers are found in Iceland, where landscapes of hot mineral springs, snowy scenery and active volcanoes attract tourists. Geysers rising 40–50 metres into the air are a particularly popular attraction. Interestingly, however, Europe’s hottest geyser is not in Iceland. It is situated around 3,700 kilometres south of the island, at the foot of the Rila Mountains near the small Bulgarian town of Sapareva Banya. Local people proudly regard their geyser as the area’s greatest attraction.
